Security forces in Quetta foiled a suicide attack, killing five militants linked to the group “Fitna al-Hindustan.” A heavy blast shook the city, and smoke was seen rising from the site, creating panic among residents. Authorities immediately imposed an emergency across medical facilities in Quetta.
This attack follows the September 2 blast in the Sariab area near the vehicle of former Balochistan chief minister and BNP leader Akhtar Mengal. While Mengal escaped unharmed, several party workers were injured when the explosion occurred in the parking area of Shahwani Stadium after a BNP political gathering.
Police confirmed that the ex-CM remained safe and that the investigation into both incidents is underway. Security has been tightened in Quetta to prevent further violence.
