BANGKOK/PHNOM PENH, July 28, 2025 — Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to an immediate, unconditional ceasefire after recent border clashes, following mediation led by U.S. officials. The conflict, sparked by long-standing territorial disputes, displaced thousands in contested border areas.

International observers welcomed the truce, though urged both governments to address root causes of the conflict and prepare frameworks for long-term peace negotiations and refugee assistance.
