As the President of the All Sindh Sarafa and Jewellers Association (ASSJA), Haji Haroon Rasheed played a vital role in Pakistan’s jewelry sector. He dedicated decades to regulating and announcing daily gold prices nationwide, earning him the nickname “Father of Gold.”
According to family sources, the 80-year-old was critically ill and receiving treatment at a local hospital when he suffered a fatal heart attack.
Tributes have poured in from across the country, with colleagues and industry leaders honoring his contributions. “Haji Haroon Rasheed’s legacy is his unwavering dedication to maintaining the integrity of the gold trade in Pakistan,” a senior jeweler remarked.
