The Punjab government has expanded the ‘Maryam Ki Dastak’ program to 32 districts, aiming to improve public service delivery across the province. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved the expansion to enhance the program’s reach.
As reported by ARY News on Tuesday, the initiative now covers 10 additional districts, including Rahim Yar Khan, Vehari, Lodhran, Toba Tek Singh, Layyah, Rajanpur, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Gujrat, and Khushab. Residents in these areas can now access various government services more easily.
Faisal Yousaf, Chairman of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), chaired a meeting in Lahore to assess the program’s progress. He highlighted that ‘Maryam Ki Dastak’ aims to deliver efficient, citizen-friendly services by deploying trained representatives and leveraging modern technology.
The program provides over 65 government services directly to citizens’ doorsteps, eliminating the need to visit government offices. This initiative is particularly beneficial for women, the elderly, and working individuals, ensuring convenience and accessibility.
Previously, the program operated in key districts like Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, and Sargodha. With its expansion, more people across Punjab can now access government services efficiently. For assistance, citizens can contact the helpline at 1202.
