To improve security, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has introduced a new rule for people coming to Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.
Starting immediately, anyone visiting the airport to receive or say goodbye to passengers must have a copy of the flight ticket. This rule is part of efforts to strengthen security after a recent terrorist attack near the airport.
According to PAA sources, visitors will need to show their tickets at security checkpoints before entering the airport. Each passenger can have a maximum of four companions, and all must present their ticket copies along with valid identification. People without a ticket copy will not be allowed to enter, no matter their relationship to the passenger.
This new rule follows the deadly suicide bombing on October 3, which killed three people, including two Chinese engineers, and injured 17 others near the airport. The attack raised concerns about airport safety and led to the review of security protocols.
Additionally, the PAA has required individuals picking up passengers to carry their national identity cards.
The new security measures will be enforced soon. Passengers and their families should expect potential delays as the airport adjusts to the updated rules.
