Why Did Omar Ayub Resign as PTI Secretary General?

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) faces a new challenge as its General Secretary, Omar Ayub Khan, resigns amid mounting state pressure on the party.

Omar Ayub Khan shared his resignation by tweeting a letter on X (formerly Twitter), but he did not explain his reasons. He also sent a letter to PTI founder Imran Khan.

    Reasons for His Resignation

Omar Ayub’s resignation has fueled widespread speculation about the reasons behind his decision. This move comes during internal conflicts within PTI, with 21 National Assembly members hinting at forming a separate group.

Earlier, reports indicated that following Shehryar Afridi’s statement about resigning, over 27 members discussed the possibility of resignations. Additionally, members like Shandana Gulzar and Sher Afzal Marwat protested against the party leadership’s incompetence.

It seems Omar Ayub has become disheartened by the allegations, complaints, and lack of confidence expressed by the party’s National Assembly members.
