Toyota Pakistan Halts Production Due to Parts Shortage

Indus Motor Company (IMC), which assembles Toyota cars in Pakistan, has announced a three-day halt in production.

The Karachi-based manufacturer of Corolla and Yaris sedans cited insufficient inventory and a shortage of key parts as the reason for this suspension.

In a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Monday, IMC stated that it is experiencing supply chain disruptions, resulting in a lack of raw materials and components necessary for production. Consequently, the company will stop operations at its plant from October 29 to October 31.

Earlier, IMC reported a profit of Rs5.09 billion for the quarter ending September 30, marking a 58% increase from Rs3.22 billion during the same period last year.

Earnings per share (EPS) rose to Rs64.77 in the first quarter of the current fiscal year, up from Rs40.91 last year.

According to a recent report, car sales in Pakistan have dropped over the last three months.
