Faisal Jutt, a lawyer and TikTok user who spread false rape claims has been arrested despite retracting his statements. His initial video alleged that a female student was raped by a security guard at a private college in Gulberg, Lahore, sparking public outrage.
After police investigated, it was confirmed that no such incident took place. Statements from the alleged victim’s father, uncle, and the SP City, Banu, all denied the occurrence of any rape, and no case was reported at any hospital.
Jutt later apologized in a follow-up video, stating that he had been misinformed. Despite his apology, police registered an FIR, and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) also launched an inquiry into those responsible for spreading the false news. He just expressed regret over the harm caused by the false allegations and stressed his dedication to women’s and children’s rights.
