PTI gets NOC for September 8 rally in Islamabad

The Islamabad administration granted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) a no-objection certificate (NOC) for its September 8 rally under 41 conditions.

A Thursday notification shared a detailed route plan for participants traveling from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab via the motorway.

The rally will be held at the GT Road Singhu Jai open grounds, starting at 4 PM and ending at 7 PM. The administration has emphasized that anti-state speeches or slogans are strictly prohibited, and the permission only applies to September 8. PTI must ensure that participants return on the same day.

The conditions require PTI to handle internal security and enforce the ban on any statements against the state.

Separate route maps have been issued for attendees from KP, Punjab, and those arriving via GT Road. Individual plans are also outlined for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Murree travelers.

PTI rescheduled the rally after canceling the August 22 event, which Imran Khan said was due to concerns over unrest. Some government ministers reportedly contacted PTI before the August 22 rally, facilitating a meeting with Khan and others that morning.

PTI’s Information Secretary Raoof Hassan told Voice of America Urdu that the September 8 rally would proceed, regardless of official permission.
