Pakistan unveiled its first locally produced electric car, the Honri Ve 2.0, at the IDEAS 2024 exhibition at the Karachi Expo Center.
This eco-friendly vehicle is designed for urban use, offering a power output of 30 kW, torque of 84 Nm, and a top speed of 100 km/h. It has a range of 200 km per charge and takes just 7 hours to fully recharge.
The Honri Ve 2.0 comes with features like front disc brakes, 15-inch alloy wheels, halogen headlights, and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen to ensure a comfortable and modern driving experience.
During the launch, Dewan Motors Director Kashif Riaz shared that the car can cover 200 kilometers on a single charge, costing just Rs. 700 for that distance. He added that the vehicle uses imported lithium batteries.
Experts at the event emphasized Pakistan’s significant lithium reserves, suggesting that producing lithium batteries locally could further lower the cost of electric vehicles in the country.
