She also explained that her past continues to affect how people treat her. In 2020, Mia shared that others now treat her differently, often thinking they have the right to mistreat or touch her in public spaces. She gave an example of a time when she refused to take a selfie with someone, and the person became rude, even swearing at her while they were in line for a passport stamp.
Mia added that when this happened while she was with her husband, the situation became so uncomfortable that both of them avoided eye contact with others after the incident.
