Pakistani actress Mariyam Nafees defended the girls involved in the Lahore Garden Town Petrol Pump Tuck Shop incident.
She posted a video on social media to share their side of the story.
In the video, Mariyam angrily explained:
“I know two of those girls; one is a very good friend. They only started hitting the guy as a last resort when he began making inappropriate comments about their bodies, calling them prostitutes and working girls.
“He compared their bodies, saying things like ‘this one is small, this one is big,’ and other disgusting remarks.
“After that, the girls told him he couldn’t talk to them like that, and he started using abusive language. He said filthy things to them and told them to leave the store. The girls responded, ‘Why should we leave the store?’
Mariyam Nafees further questioned, “Is this our safety, where girls can’t go out wearing Western clothes, jeans, and shirts just to have a cup of tea?”
