Karachi Zoo Welcomes Three More Lion Cubs

Karachi: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) announced the birth of three new lion cubs at Karachi Zoological Gardens on Monday.

According to the KMC, the cubs are healthy and nursed by their mother.

An official shared that the cubs were separated from the male lion to ensure their safety after birth. “Experts are taking proper care of the cubs. Once they turn eight weeks old, they will be moved to a regular enclosure.”

Visitors won’t be able to see the cubs for the next two months as lion cubs are born blind and need constant care from their mother during the early weeks.

Mayor Murtaza Wahab expressed joy over the birth and reaffirmed his commitment to improving the zoo’s facilities and introducing more animals.

Two lion cubs were also born at the zoo in August. This was the first time in 12 years that big cats were born at the facility. In March, a private zoo gifted a pair of lions and pumas to the KMC.
