Israeli Soldiers Caught Assaulting Palestinian Detainee

Footage from surveillance cameras aired by Israeli Channel 12 reveals a disturbing incident involving Israeli reservist soldiers. In the video, the soldiers pick out a detainee from a group of over 30 others, all of whom are blindfolded and lying on the ground. The detainee is then taken to a corner. Where the soldiers attempt to conceal their actions using shields despite knowing about the surveillance cameras.

The report details the assault, describing it as an act of sodomy. The detainee, who was bleeding, was taken to the hospital after several hours, where doctors described his condition as “complex.” According to a medical report, the injury was reportedly caused by the insertion of an object.

Channel 12 released this footage, part of the evidence used in an investigation into the Sde Teiman detention camp. The video shows detained Palestinians lying on the floor, with one detainee being assaulted by the soldiers.

Following this incident, nine soldiers were arrested on July 29. However, Israeli right-wing protesters, including politicians, stormed two military bases in southern and central Israel in response to the arrests.
Although the Israeli military prosecution claims to be analyzing the incident, no charges have been filed against the accused soldiers so far. This incident is part of a broader pattern of abuse at the Sde Teiman prison in the Negev desert. Where Palestinian prisoners from Gaza have reportedly been mistreated. Despite investigations being announced, concrete outcomes are seldom achieved.

Since October 7, Israeli military actions in Gaza have resulted in nearly 40,000 Palestinian deaths, leading to accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice.
