Google has introduced a new AI-powered chat assistant to help YouTube creators recover hacked channels. In a recent blog post, Google explained that this support assistant will guide users through securing their login details and recovering their accounts.
Currently, the AI assistant is in the testing phase and is only available to select YouTube creators. However, Google plans to make this feature accessible to all users. For now, the assistant supports only English.
How to Recover a Hacked YouTube Channel Using the Support Assistant:
- Visit the YouTube Help page at support.google.com/youtube.
- Log in to your Google Account if you still need to do so.
- Go to the Help Centre menu and scroll down to “Fix a problem” or “Manage your account and settings.”
- Eligible accounts will find a new option, “Recover a hacked YouTube channel.”
- Click on “Chat with our hacked channel assistant,” which will open a chat window with the AI assistant.
The tool will ask questions about your account and YouTube channel to help secure your login details and undo any changes made by the hacker.
Google also recommends checking for signs of account compromise before starting the recovery process. If you notice changes like a new profile picture, altered channel description, modified AdSense settings, or videos you didn’t upload, your Google Account might be hacked or compromised.
