A German tourist named Berg Florian, who was travelling through Pakistan on a bicycle, was tortured and robbed by bandits in Lahore, as confirmed by the police on Saturday.
The incident occurred when the 27-year-old traveller was sleeping inside his camp on Airport Road in the provincial capital.
Police reported that two armed robbers stole a mobile phone, a camera worth Rs500,000, and cash from Florian.
Florian informed the police that the robbers also tortured him before fleeing the scene.
In a video that went viral on social media, visible torture marks were seen on Florian’s neck and hands.
After the incident, Florian reached Rangers Hospital on his bicycle, where he received medical treatment.
The victim and eyewitnesses filed a First Information Report (FIR) at the North Chowni police station.
SP Cantt has launched an investigation into the case at the request of the foreign tourist.
DIG Operations Muhammad Faisal Kamran has taken notice of the incident, ordering the immediate arrest of the suspects and requesting a report from SP Cantt.
