Fiverr and Upwork, popular freelance marketplaces, have informed their users about internet disruptions across Pakistan, warning that these issues may cause delays for Pakistani freelancers.
Recently, internet services have been slow and disrupted nationwide, causing significant problems for the public and businesses, including freelancers.
The disruption is reportedly due to the installation of a new firewall system by authorities to regulate social media platforms. These ongoing internet outages have frustrated users, making it difficult to complete daily tasks.
Freelancers have struggled to meet project deadlines in the past few weeks due to the unreliable internet. Fiverr addressed the issue in a notification: “We understand that there may be internet disruptions in your area that might make it harder to keep your routine going. To make sure any unexpected order delays won’t hurt your ratings, we’re going ahead and temporarily setting your availability status and Gig(s) as unavailable.”
Fiverr assured users that this action would not negatively impact their ratings.
