Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman has pledged to defend Khatm-e-Nabuwat (the finality of Prophethood) against what he calls conspiracies targeting Islamic values. He made these remarks during a gathering at Jamia Masjid in the Minister’s Enclave, where the nation observed Youm-e-Tashakur (Day of Thanksgiving) following a Supreme Court ruling in the Mubarak Sani review petition case.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed gratitude for the Supreme Court’s recent decision, describing it as a victory for the nation’s Islamic principles. Federal ministers, parliamentarians, and civil and military officers attended the event, and they offered Nawafil (voluntary prayers) to celebrate the verdict.
In his speech, the JUI-F chief criticized a previous Supreme Court ruling, claiming it favored the Qadianis and was contrary to Islamic law. He praised the court’s decision to remove the disputed paragraphs from the earlier judgment, stating that this action aligned the ruling with Islamic principles.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman noted that Muslims nationwide are observing this day with prayers of thanksgiving in response to the revised judgment. He congratulated the Muslim community and attributed this success to the persistent efforts of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam.
He also invited the entire nation to a conference in Lahore on September 7, where further discussions on protecting Khatm-e-Nabuwat will occur. Additionally, he commended Supreme Court Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa for considering the ulema’s recommendations in the Mubarak Sani case, ensuring that the final judgment adhered to Islamic teachings.
