Dania Shah, the widow of the late religious scholar and TV host Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain, recently confirmed her second marriage to Hakeem Shehzad. The couple has decided to enter politics and will contest for National Assembly seats as independent candidates in the upcoming elections.
In an interview with a local journalist, Hakeem Shehzad revealed their plans. “Dania Shah will run for the National Assembly seat from Lodhran, while I will contest for the MNA seat from Shujaabad,” Shehzad said.
He added, “We are actively preparing for the elections. If elected, we plan to introduce a presidential system in Pakistan. I don’t just make promises; I deliver.”
Shehzad expressed a strong stance when asked about his opinion on Pakistan’s political leaders. “A journalist once asked me who I would choose to sit with among Imran Khan, Asif Zardari, and Nawaz Sharif. I said I would sit with myself because I consider myself a leader. Why should I follow anyone else?”
Notably, Dania Shah was previously married to the late Aamir Liaquat Hussain, marking Hakeem Shehzad’s fourth marriage.
