Court Issues Stay Order Against Pashtun Qaumi Adalat

A Peshawar court has issued a 14-day stay order against the Pashtun Qaumi Adalat after a petition was filed by resident Haji Amir Nawaz.

The court also barred the Pashtun Qaumi Adalat from using the disputed land for activities. The petition claimed that the Pashtun Qaumi Movement (PTM) had developed the ground on controversial land.

Following the court’s decision, the police have been given full authority to maintain peace in the area.

Another local resident, Kaseerullah, also filed a petition in the Peshawar High Court. The petition argued that the PTM is trying to establish a parallel judicial system through the Pashtun Qaumi Adalat.

The high court noted that the federation had banned the PTM, preventing it from engaging in any activities.
