    COAS Hosts Ceremony To Honour Arshad Nadeem

    Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir hosted a ceremony at the Army Auditorium General Headquarters (GHQ) to honor Olympian Arshad Nadeem’s remarkable achievement, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday.

    At the Paris Olympics 2024, Arshad Nadeem made history by launching a javelin throw of 92.97 meters. Securing Pakistan’s first-ever individual gold medal. This was Pakistan’s first gold in any discipline in 40 years. The nation has widely praised and admired Nadeem for his outstanding performance.

    The event was attended by sports teams and legendary Olympians, including members of the 1984 Olympic and National Hockey Teams. The National Cricket Team, the Street Football Team, the Army Polo Team, the Visually Impaired Cricket and Women’s Goal Ball Teams, and medal winners from the Commonwealth, SAF, and Asian Games. Participants of the Paris Olympics 2024 were also present.

    Notable sports legends such as Jehangir Khan, Isalah Ud Din, Shahbaz Senior, Sohail Abbas, Muhammad Asif, and Aisam-ul-Haq attended the ceremony. Arshad Nadeem’s close relatives, associates, and coaches were also present.

    COAS General Asim Munir praised Arshad Nadeem for his historic gold medal win. Attributing his success to commitment, perseverance, and a passion for excellence. He highlighted Nadeem’s inspirational journey from humble beginnings to achieving greatness, emphasizing the importance of hard work and determination.

    The army chief recognized Nadeem’s achievement as a source of national pride and noted that the nation honors him for his accomplishment. He reaffirmed the commitment to support and empower athletes and the entire youth of Pakistan to achieve excellence and contribute to a prosperous nation. He stressed the importance of youth engagement, development, and entertainment for a healthy and thriving society.

    Arshad Nadeem expressed his gratitude and highlighted the immense potential of Pakistani youth. Stressing that hard work, positivity, and perseverance are vital to overcoming challenges and achieving success.
