ASP Shehrbano Naqvi Considered for PCB Women’s Cricket Role

Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi, a 26-year-old Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Punjab, is under consideration for a leading role in Pakistan Women’s Cricket.

This opportunity arose after Tania Mallick stepped down to focus on expanding women’s cricket at the grassroots level.

Shehrbano gained national attention for her bravery when she rescued a woman from a mob in Lahore’s Ichra Bazaar, who was wrongfully accused of blasphemy due to her Arabic-printed clothing.

In a dangerous situation, ASP Shehrbano Naqvi placed herself between the girl and the angry crowd. She addressed the mob, urging them to back off and allow her to handle the situation peacefully, and safely escorted the girl away from harm.

Her courageous actions have earned her admiration from celebrities, as well as civil and military officials. She has even been recommended for the prestigious Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal for bravery.

Shehrbano’s accomplishments and recent engagements have bolstered her position as a strong candidate for the PCB role. Her educational background includes a BS Honours and an MPhil in public policy and governance from the University of Punjab, showcasing her leadership potential.

With her impressive achievements, Shehrbano is well-prepared to lead Pakistan Women’s Cricket.
