KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has fired former pacers Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq from the selection committee following the national team’s early exit from the T20 World Cup.
“The PCB today confirmed that it has notified Abdul Razzaq and Wahab Riaz that their services will no longer be required in the national selection committee setup,” PCB said in a statement released on its official website.
Wahab and Razzaq were part of PCB’s seven-person men’s squad selection committee, and Razzaq was also on the women’s team selection committee.
The cricket board said it would release more information about the new selection committee when it is available.
Pakistan was eliminated from the competition, co-hosted by the United States and the West Indies, after close losses to the amateur USA team and archrival India.
