KARACHI — The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) conducted a search operation at the residence of Armaghan, the prime accused in the high-profile Mustafa Amir murder case. The raid, carried out in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA), was part of an ongoing probe into both the murder and alleged money laundering activities linked to the suspect.
According to officials, the FIA team — accompanied by police — recovered 18 laptops, several electronic gadgets, and an expensive Audi car believed to have been purchased with laundered money. The vehicle has been taken into FIA custody and will form part of the anti-money laundering investigation.
Authorities confirmed that a detailed inventory of the seized items is being prepared. The FIA secured official search warrants prior to the raid, ensuring full legal compliance during the operation.
The raid follows an earlier development when an anti-terrorism court (ATC) extended the physical remand of Armaghan for six more days. His co-accused, Sheeraz, has been sent to jail on judicial custody.
The tragic case dates back to January 6, when 26-year-old Mustafa Amir was allegedly kidnapped and murdered by his friends in Karachi. Investigators say the suspects later stuffed the victim’s body into a car trunk and set it ablaze in Balochistan’s Hub area.
Officials said the FIA’s findings could reveal further links between the murder and potential financial crimes. The probe continues under strict supervision of the agency’s anti-money laundering cell.
