Former world boxing champion Ricky Hatton’s death inquest has been adjourned until March 20, 2026, following preliminary proceedings at South Manchester Coroner’s Court.
The 46-year-old ex-light-welterweight and welterweight titleholder was found dead at his home in Hyde on September 14. According to police, he was last seen by family on September 12 and appeared to be in good health.
Hatton’s manager, Paul Speak, discovered his body when he arrived to pick him up for a flight to Dubai. Police told the court that the initial indication of cause of death was hanging, but the final report is still pending.
Senior Coroner Alison Mutch confirmed that a full hearing will take place in March. No family members were present during the short proceedings.
