ISLAMABAD, July 21, 2025 — The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has raised serious alarm about a sharp increase in violence against religious minorities across the country. The commission’s latest report documents disturbing trends including forced conversions, mob violence linked to blasphemy accusations, and extrajudicial killings, particularly targeting Ahmadi and Hindu communities. The HRCP urges stronger legal protections and policy reforms to address the worsening climate of intolerance and discrimination.
Community leaders and civil rights groups have called on authorities to take immediate action, including safeguarding vulnerable populations, prosecuting perpetrators, and fostering inclusive dialogue to preserve religious harmony.
