Pakistan Monsoon Toll Hits 281 as NDMA Warns of More Rain

ISLAMABAD, July 28, 2025 — Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has reported a total of 281 monsoon-related deaths so far this season, as heavy rains are expected to continue until July 31 across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.

The wet spell has caused riverine flooding, landslides, and urban waterlogging, particularly in low-lying urban centres. Authorities have instructed rescue teams to remain on standby and urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel. Virtual tools like the ‘Pak NDMA Disaster Alert’ app have been recommended for real-time updates.
