Finance Minister Stresses Inclusive Growth and Social Impact Financing

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Muhammad Aurangzeb, has reaffirmed the government’s focus on inclusive growth and sustainable development. He shared these views during the Prime Minister’s Committee on Social Impact Financing meeting, reported Pak Observer on Tuesday.

The meeting, chaired by Aurangzeb, brought together key public and private sector leaders to explore innovative financial strategies for social impact. A press release from the finance ministry stated that the minister highlighted the government’s goal of improving community welfare by encouraging the private sector to lead meaningful social initiatives.

Key priorities discussed included boosting financial inclusion and supporting marginalized communities in Pakistan. Aurangzeb emphasized that the government would create a strong policy and regulatory framework to support social impact financing, while the private sector would implement these efforts.

Participants included Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Ali Parvez Malik, the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, the Chairman of SECP, and the heads of Pakistan Banks’ Association, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, and State Life Insurance Corporation. Other notable attendees were leaders from Akhuwat Foundation, Karandaaz Pakistan, Pakistan Environment Trust, Interloop Asset Management, and senior officials from various ministries. This collaborative effort underscores the importance of advancing social impact financing in Pakistan.
