British-Pakistani journalist Saima Mohsin has received the prestigious Kathy Gannon Legacy Award from the Coalition for Women in Journalism (CFWIJ) during a ceremony in London.
The award celebrates experienced correspondents who cover important stories with integrity, honoring female journalists who embody Kathy Gannon’s legacy.
The CFWIJ praised Mohsin for her tenacity and dedication to journalism, calling her an exemplary choice for the award.
Mohsin gained prominence after being injured while reporting in Jerusalem, an incident that led to her dismissal. Since then, she has championed justice, workplace protections, and better safeguards for journalists in challenging environments.
Currently working with Sky News, Mohsin shares this year’s honor with journalist Leila Molana Allen.
