Australia dominated Pakistan in the third T20, sealing a 3-0 series whitewash with a commanding seven-wicket win.
Pakistan, after winning the toss, chose to bat first at Ninja Stadium in Bellerive. Openers Sahibzada Farhan and Babar Azam provided a steady start. However, Farhan fell early, scoring only 9 runs off 7 balls, caught by Xavier Bartlett off Spencer Johnson.
Wicketkeeper-batter Haseebullah Khan joined Babar and added 24 runs off 19 balls before being dismissed by Adam Zampa. Pakistan’s batting crumbled as wickets fell quickly. Usman Khan, Salman Ali Agha, and Irfan Khan failed to build momentum, leaving Pakistan struggling at 92-7.
Babar Azam top-scored with 41 runs off 28 balls, but the rest of the lineup couldn’t capitalize. Pakistan’s innings ended at 117, with Shaheen Afridi’s 16 runs providing a brief resistance.
Australia’s Run-Chase
Chasing 118, Australia lost Matt Short early for 2 runs, dismissed by Shaheen Afridi. Jake Fraser-McGurk added 18 off 11 balls but was caught off Jahandad Khan. Josh Inglis contributed 27 runs before falling to Irfan Khan’s catch.
Marcus Stoinis stole the show with a blistering 61 off 27 balls, smashing 5 fours and 5 sixes. He guided Australia to victory in just 11.2 overs with 52 balls to spare.
With this win, Australia completed a clean sweep of the series, showcasing their dominance over Pakistan in all three matches.
