Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Thursday criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for its use of “inappropriate” language in politics.
Speaking to the media in London, Maryam said, “PTI’s politics revolves around creating unrest. Those who break the law will face accountability.”
She condemned the recent harassment of Defence Minister Khawaja Asif in London, saying, “We strongly denounce what happened to Khawaja Asif.”
Maryam further criticized PTI, stating, “Their only focus is on staging protests. Such wrongful actions will inevitably lead to arrests.”
Earlier, Maryam addressed rumors about her health, clarifying that she does not have throat cancer but a condition related to her parathyroid gland.
At a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) event in London, alongside her father, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, she explained her recent medical visit to Geneva. “I’ve been working non-stop for the past eight months. I have a parathyroid issue that can only be treated in Switzerland or America. I went to Geneva for check-ups but am cancer-free,” she said, dismissing the rumors.
Maryam noted that she initially chose not to discuss her health publicly but decided to address the rumors to reassure her supporters. She confirmed that she will return to Pakistan within two days.
