The Sindh cabinet has approved Rs232.14 million to conduct a retake of the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) for candidates who took the test on September 22.
The retake will be free for all candidates, but a specific date hasn’t been set yet. The health department has been directed to organize the test smoothly, with the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) in Sukkur handling the administration within the next six weeks.
This decision came after the Sindh High Court ordered a retake due to concerns over irregularities in the original exam. The court instructed the provincial government to cover all costs and tasked IBA Sukkur or IBA Karachi with conducting the test.
In a cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, the government also announced it would set up vigilance committees in collaboration with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) to monitor the retake process closely.
Additionally, the cabinet approved the creation of a Sindh Job Portal to streamline government job recruitment and established the Sindh Environmental Protection Council to improve environmental governance.
