Pak vs Eng: Pakistan 73/3 in response to England’s 267 in Pindi Test

Pakistan, trailing by 267 runs, lost Abdullah Shafiq (14), Saim Ayub (19), and Kamran Ghulam (3) early in their first innings. Skipper Shan Masood, who saw these dismissals, remained not out on 16 alongside Saud Shakeel, also on 16, as Pakistan ended the first day at 73/3. England’s Jack Leach, Gus Atkinson, and Shoaib Bashir each took a wicket.

Earlier, England was struggling at 118-6 after lunch, but Jamie Smith’s impressive 91 and Gus Atkinson’s patient 39 helped their side recover. The pair put on a crucial 107-run partnership for the seventh wicket. Noman Ali and Zahid Mahmood took two quick wickets before tea, with Smith falling in the nervous nineties.

Noman and Sajid Khan were the standout bowlers for Pakistan, claiming seven wickets, while Zahid took one.
