The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have accused six journalists working for Al Jazeera of being members of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ). According to the IDF, intelligence gathered from Gaza revealed that Anas Al-Sharif, Alaa Salama, Hossam Shabat, Ashraf Saraj, Ismail Abu Amr, and Talal Aruki are affiliated with the military wings of these organizations.
The IDF stated that these journalists have been working both for Al Jazeera and as military operatives for the terrorist groups. Ismail Abu Amr, injured in a previous IDF attack, was previously denied by Al Jazeera to be part of Hamas, but IDF claims newly recovered documents show otherwise.
The IDF said these findings confirm the journalists are involved in a propaganda war against Israel under the direction of Hamas’s military wing.
