There is growing curiosity about the whereabouts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur after reports of his alleged arrest in Islamabad on Saturday.
Some reports claim that Gandapur was arrested by law enforcement from KP House in Islamabad, while others suggest he left the location before police and Rangers arrived.
Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif, Adviser to the KP CM on Information, said he has had no contact with the Chief Minister and needs to know where he is.
CM Gandapur has disappeared before. Last month, he was unaccounted for almost 24 hours in Islamabad before resurfacing in Peshawar. It was rumoured he had been in discussions with influential figures in the capital, though details were never shared.
On Saturday, heavy police and Rangers units entered KP House after CM Gandapur went to the provincial government’s residence in Islamabad.
Government sources have denied reports of the KP Chief Minister’s arrest by law enforcement agencies.
