11 KP Policemen Arrested in PTI Protests, Naqvi Reveals

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that 11 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police officers were arrested during clashes with PTI supporters in Islamabad on Saturday.

“We found masks, tear gas shells, and rubber bullets with them,” Naqvi told reporters in Islamabad.

He also shared alarming news about the involvement of foreign nationals, saying, “Forty-one Afghan nationals were arrested during the clashes, and a total of 120 in the past 48 hours. Protests by the country’s citizens are one thing, but foreign nationals being involved is alarming.”

Naqvi raised concerns about protesters firing at police near Pathargarh during the passage of KP Chief Minister Gandapur’s convoy. He also questioned how tear gas got into the hands of protesters, adding that 80 to 85 police officers were injured and treated.

He further claimed that some groups were communicating to bring firearms from Bannu and tribal areas to the protests, increasing security concerns.
